Yealink Recovery Mode


This is only applicable to SIP phone series including SIP-T42U, SIP-T43U, SIP-T46U, SIP-T48U, SIP-T57W, SIP-T54W, SIP-T53W, SIP-T53, SIP-T53C, and VP59.

This feature can only be supported on new factory phones running firmware version 96.86.X.X or later.
Start with the phone unplugged

Procedures

  1. Unplug the phone from power

  2. Long press (Speakerphone key) and reconnect the power adapter to trigger the recovery

    mode. Do not release until the recovery mode wizard appears on the phone LCD screen.

  3. Press 1 to run the backup system. 

For phones stuck on "Welcome initializing" that will not respond to the above reset, please follow the below steps:

  1. Unplug the power from the phone (if the phone is Poe powered you will unplug the cable from the "internet" ethernet port)
  2. Download the attached firmware recovery files to a freshly Fat32 formatted Kingston flash drive if recovering via USB, if recovering via TFTP you'll need to put them in the directory you are sharing with your TFTP client. 
    1. You will also need to download a current firmware rom file from Yealink. You may need to use an older version like 96.86.0.18 if you run into issues. You will also need to rename the file to the correct phone model (ex T54W.rom)
  3. Press and hold the redial button on the Yealink T5 series device while plugging the power back into the phone: 

  4. You can proceed via USB or TFTP by pressing the numbered option.
